Power Apps Engineer

As a Microsoft Power Apps Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting, designing, developing, and implementing custom applications using Microsoft Power Apps, a low-code development platform. Your primary focus will be on providing support to customers with development incidents and requests. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, stakeholders, and other IT professionals, to understand requirements and deliver high-quality applications.

General Accountabilities

  • Power Apps support: Provide support to customers regarding Microsoft Power Apps and Power Apps design and development.
  • Application Development: Design, build, and deploy custom applications using Microsoft Power Apps that align with business requirements and adhere to best practices.
  • Solution Architecture: Create robust and scalable application architecture to ensure long-term maintainability and performance of the Power Apps solutions.
  • Integration: Integrate Power Apps with other Microsoft products like SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365, as well as third-party systems, to create seamless end-to-end processes.
  • Data Management: Implement data models, entities, and connections within Power Apps to handle data manipulation, storage, and retrieval effectively.
  • UI/UX Design: Develop intuitive and user-friendly interfaces using Power Apps' visual design capabilities to provide a delightful user experience.
  • Workflow Automation: Utilize Power Automate (formerly Microsoft Flow) to automate processes and create efficient workflows between Power Apps and other applications.
  • Testing and Debugging: Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications to ensure they meet functional and performance requirements.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement security measures to safeguard data and ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and organizational policies.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation, including technical specifications, user guides, and training materials, to facilitate knowledge transfer and support.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and ongoing support to end-users and stakeholders, enabling them to effectively use and maintain Power Apps solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest Power Apps features, industry trends, and best practices to continually enhance the organization's application portfolio.


Job Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • ITSM certification preferred, ITSM foundation training required.

  Experience:

  • Strong experience with automation and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with tools such as AWX and GitLab.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Pearl, or Bash for automation purposes.
  • Experience on administration on Gitlab instance.
  • Experience with Container based application is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Public clouds (Azure and/or GCP) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerApps.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI.


Professional Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English is required.
  • Excellent meeting facilitation skills, including teleconference and web conference.
  • Excellent skills in math to calculate currency exchanges and summary data.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship management skills, proven ability to manage by influence.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities, communicating changes in scope and schedule to all parties concerned.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to visualize the big picture and manage last minute details.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing applications using Microsoft Power Apps.
  • Proficiency in working with Power Apps components, such as canvas apps, model-driven apps, and Power Apps portals.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Virtual Agents.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, relational databases, and data integration concepts.
  • Ability to customize and extend Power Apps using Power Apps formulas and expressions.
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other web technologies is a plus.
  • Microsoft certifications related to Power Apps, such as Microsoft Certified: Power Apps + Dynamics 365 Developer Associate, are advantageous but not mandatory
