We are looking for an experienced, highly
motivated, detail- Systems Engineer Networking for the Enterprise Services
team within IT.
As a Network Systems Engineer, you will be responsible to maintain Service
Level Operations and Agreements with customer, by focusing on troubleshooting
incidents and bring services back as soon as possible, fulfilling all requests
coming from the customer, providing definite solutions to problems identified
by customer, processes or internally and being accountable of network changes.
Support to projects will be required, as customer will be transforming into new Cisco solutions and/or technologies.
All support will be remotely during business hours (8am-5pm) eastern time.
This position will be dedicated to a US based customer and will require fluent English language skills.
General Accountabilities
Researching advanced technology trends in area(s) of expertise;
Identifying emerging trends and initiating research projects for team members;
Designing innovative solutions using new technologies;
Recommending short-term alternatives when appropriate;
Creating prototypes and leading initial development and testing through to production;
Defining enterprise-wide scoped SLAs to ensure requirements are met or exceeded;
Escalating problems as required based on SLAs;
Developing client satisfaction and capacity planning metrics;
Coordinating assessment of emerging technologies typically as the lead subject matter expert;
Evaluating and recommending new projects or tools for the organization;
Overseeing cost benefit analysis and presenting options to management teams;
Assisting in the resolution of support issues escalated by senior operations or development personnel;
Providing technical expertise across business functions;
Articulating relationship between business and the data and technology that support the business;
Identifying opportunities to improve business processes via new technologies;
Making recommendations and influencing long-term technology strategy and planning for multiple business units;
Assisting in development of RFPs and responses to new business opportunities;
Acting as subject matter expert to various project teams;
Determining dependencies and prerequisites;
Creating CRFs for assigned tasks and ensuring CRFs are approved in accordance with project timeline;
Defining production readiness and transition acceptance criteria and ensuring criteria are completed before new system implementation.
Job Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required in related field; Master’s degree preferred
ITSM certification preferred, ITSM foundation training required
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Technology
Minimum 3 years of experience with design, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting enterprise level WAN/LAN technology including Cisco ASR and ISR routers, Cisco Catalyst switches: Cat9300 and Nexus switches; experience with DCNM, VXLAN, ACI, OTV, and FabricPath preferred
Minimum 3 years of experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting WAN protocols and technologies including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, DMVPN, VRF, and GRE/IPSec tunnels; experience with ISIS, Multicast, preferred
Minimum 3 years of experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting LAN protocols and technologies including VLAN, Spanning-tree, VTP, 802.1Q, HSRP, GLBP, VPC, and EtherChannel
Minimum 2 years of experience with management, configuration, and troubleshooting of an enterprise level wireless environment using Cisco WLCs (5520 and 5508) and APs Minimum 2 years of experience with management, configuration, and troubleshooting of Cisco ISE with 802.1x implementation
Minimum 2 years of experience with management, configuration, and troubleshooting of multi-context Cisco ASA firewalls; experience with Cisco Firepower Threat Defense and Firepower Management Console preferred
Minimum 2 years of experience with management, configuration, and troubleshooting of F5 environment running LTM, GTM, ASM, and BigIQ
Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Viptela SDWAN
Experience with applications Cisco DNAC, Cisco Prime, Splunk, SolarWinds, Infoblox, Wireshark
Working knowledge of policy-based routing, CoS/QoS, RADIUS, TACACS+, SNMP, NTP, and IPv6
CCNP or equivalent competency
