Cloud SRE

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud SRE to join our team to support our global scale datacenter extensions for Converge IBM Power for Google Cloud. The successful candidate will have expertise in OpenStack, Google Cloud, and Kubernetes, as well as experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Telegraf, and ELK.

The Cloud SRE will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions for the management, operation, and maintenance of our cloud environments. This includes deploying and configuring cloud infrastructure, monitoring and improving system performance, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

This position will also work closely with our development teams to support the delivery of new applications and services and will be responsible for ensuring that our cloud environments are secure and compliant with industry standards.

          General Accountabilities

          • Design and implement solutions for the management, operation, and maintenance of our cloud environments.

          • Monitor and improve system performance using tools such as Grafana and Telegraf.

          • Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.

          • Work with development teams to support the delivery of new applications and services.

          • Ensure that our cloud environments are secure and compliant with industry standards.}

          Technical Skills

          • Strong experience with OpenStack, Google Cloud, and Kubernetes.

          • Strong Linux knowledge is required.

          • Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Telegraf, and/or ELK.

          • Knowledge of cloud security best practices.

          • Experience with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

          • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

          • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

          • Hands on experience doing installation, configuration & troubleshooting with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Influx DB, Zabbix.

          • Proficient in at least one scripting language, like Python, Ansible, Pearl or Bash.

          • DevOps platform and tools, including Git, Gitlab or GitHub, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery concepts and best practices.

          • Networking knowledge is required.

          • Code, debug, test, and document; and communicate DevOps development stages/status.

          Job Qualifications 
          Education: 
          • Bachelor's degree preferred. 

          • Google Cloud Certified: Associate Cloud Engineer (preferred), training required. 

          • ITSM foundation training required. 

          Professional Skills
          • Fluent English language skills required: verbal and written communication.

          • Have strong inter-personal and communication skills: capable of training users in complex topics and making presentations to internal groups. 

          • Able to write intricate system and user documentation. Capable of writing and explaining purchase justifications.

          • Experience collaborating with multicultural teams and customers.

          • Initiative-taking and disciplined.

          • Strong stakeholder relationship management skills.

          • Strong investigative and analysis skills.
